Urban Foester visit to Bandon

Kristin Ramstad, Community Assistance Forester for the Oregon Department of Forestry, will be in Bandon to meet with interested citizens on Tuesday, July 24, a little after 5:00 PM, in the City Council Chambers. The Friends of Bandon's Trees and Kristin have identified some possible topics for discussion during her visit:

• How to develop hazard tree risk management policies;
• How to deal with trees and new development;
• How to start or re-energize a Tree Board, or tree advisory committee;
• How to draft or revamp your city's tree ordinance;
• How to start a Heritage Tree program.

Other topics for discussion might be how to encourage programs for tree planting; how to protect areas of interest, such as Gross Creek.

Anyone interested in attending this meeting to discuss tree related issues is invited and encouraged to attend.
